Lightning "Fiberglass" Version
The Lightning is a centerboard sloop designed in 1938 by Sparkman & Stephens as a family day-sailor and racing boat. It is one of the most popular and competitive one-design racing classes in the world.  This model is hand-crafted of all wood but painted all white to represent the newer fiberglass styles that are more popular today.  The mast and boom are painted black to represent a carbon fiber material and the cockpit was changed from our wood style for a more accurate layout on a fiberglass boat.
